Dancing figures

£240.00

£240 each can be sold as a pair. 12cm high x 8cm wide

Unique, one of a kind vessels. Photographs showing different sides of the vessels. High fired and functional, holds water. Wash by hand.

The first, second and third photographs are the same vessel from different sides, front, back and side views. This handmade porcelain vessel or small vase has a story to tell. It is illustrated with a sketchbook observations of dancers moving inspired by Matisse cut out images. Recalling a time when we all get a chance to relax.

They are hand drawn and etched into the clay. The coloured lines are first etched into the clay and then filled with the inlay underglaze colour, also sgraffito, or scratched lines to reveal the background colour is used and thin colour washes painted as decoration.

This Porcelain People series is hand built from slabs rather than the potter’s wheel. It has a clear transparent glaze on the interior and on the exterior too. It carriers the maker’s mark, as the signature.
