RA Summer

I was thrilled to be selected for the Royal academy summer Exhibition 2021. It was coordinated and curated by Yinka Shonibare of Shonibare studios.

His aim was to Reclaim the Magical in Art and he accomplished this according to Jonathan Jones the Art critic for the Guardian Newspaper in an article on 18th September 2021.

So many exciting colourful works of art on display. It was fun to attend the Varnishing Day when only the the selected artists attended a cocktail and champagne morning after a service at the St. James Church across the road from the Royal Academy on Piccadilly.

I enjoyed the hymns with some beautiful words including' ‘silent as light’ and ‘justice like mountains’. A wonderful choir and a perceptive open minded sermon by the priestess. then for strawberries and cream and a chance to chat to other artists and meet up with contemporary image makers.
