This handmade porcelain vessel has a story to tell. It is illustrated with a sketchbook observations of people at the cafe chatting or looking at their phones that I drew when waiting for a friend at a cafe. Recalling a time or moment when I got a chance to relax.

They are hand drawn and etched into the clay. The coloured lines are first etched into the clay and then filled with the inlay underglaze colour, also sgraffito, or scratched lines to reveal the background colour is used and thin colour washes painted as decoration.

This Porcelain People series is hand built from slabs rather than the potter’s wheel. It has a clear transparent glaze on the interior and on the exterior too. It carriers the maker’s mark, as the signature.
